Saudi Arabia on Monday reported a sharp increase in the novel coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 1,453.
To limit the spread of the coronavirus disease, The Ministry of Interior on Monday extended the curfew period in six districts of Makkah (Ajyad, Al-Masafi, Al-Misfalah, Al-Hujun, Al-Nakasa and Housh Bakr).
These measures are aimed at preventing anyone from entering or leaving these areas all through the day.
The move comes as part of the precautionary and preventive measures to safeguard the health and safety of citizens and residents and based on the health recommendations submitted by the concerned authorities, for an unspecified period.
The measure came into force at 3 p.m. Monday, March,30th., 2020.
According to news the people in mentioned districts will be allowed to leave their homes for urgent needs, such as health care and groceries only, within the district during the period from 6 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,
the ministry urged them to implement a self-quarantine in their homes and to contact 937 if any covid-19 symptoms emerge.
According to the source the ban on movement inside these districts doesn’t apply on the entities exempted in the curfew order.
