The Saudi authority of Zakat & Tax took the decision to impose 100% tax on electronic cigarettes & products used in them, and a 50% tax on sugary drinks. it will effective from Saturday 25th. of May 2019.
Saudi Arabia already had a 100% tax on cigarettes and tobacco products, a 100% tax on energy drinks and a 50% one on other fizzy drinks.
The new taxes are imposed on selected products which are harmful to public health.
