
Saudi Arabia has recorded 2039 new cases from the novel coronavirus, raising the total of confirms cases in the Kingdom to 46,869 so far.
The ministry also reported 1,429 new recovered cases to increase the tally of recoveries to 19,051. And the virus-related death toll rose to 283 after the new 10 deaths.

Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali noted that there was a significant increase of 125 % in children testing positive and 100% rise in females.
He also said that the recent spike is a result of social gatherings and non-compliance with preventative measures implemented.
“This shows that these types of social activities, and these gatherings, are highly dangerous and negatively affected a group of individuals,” Dr. Ali said.
