Saudi Arabia recorded on April 25, Saturday 1,197 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 16,299, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health.
Out of the 1,197 new cases, 364 the highest number were found in Makkah, 271 in Jeddah, 170 in Riyadh, 120 in Madinah, 45 in Khobar, 43 in Dammam and 34 were reported in Hufof, the spokesman said.
Moreover there were 27 cases in Taif, 26 in Jubail, 20 in Baish, 17 in Buraidah, 13 in Yanbu, 12 in Al-Mithnab, 6 each in Sajir and Baha, 5 each in Al-Muzahimya and Arar, 2 each in Tabuk and Al-Makhwa, 1 each in Khamis Mushayt, Unaizah, Trubh, Qunfudah, Bin Malik, Al-Zulfi and Kharj.
there are 115 cases in a “critical condition” and are in the ICU, SPA quoted the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali as saying.
The ministry also announced nine deaths and 166 new recoveries, raising the total number of fatalities and recoveries 136 and 2,215 respectively so far in the country.
Minister said earlier this week that the spike in the number of daily reported COVID-19 cases is due to cases being detected by the expanded field testing programs.
Medical teams have been conducting mass COVID-19 screenings in neighborhoods across the Kingdom to ensure that cases are detected early.
