A man arrested for intentionally spitting on trolleys and doors at a shopping mall in Saudi Arabia could face the death penalty after testing positive for coronavirus.
The prosecution explained that the man could face the death penalty because his actions amount to first degree murder.
The unnamed suspect and three other expats were arrested a few days ago in the Hail region of north-western Saudi Arabia.
After testing positive for the coronavirus, the Saudi authorities asked everyone who visited the affected store to immediately undergo a COVID-19 test.
The kingdom is battling to control the novel coronavirus.
Saudi Arabia reported 110 new cases of the deadly covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the Kingdom to 1,563, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.
