After showing a consecutive 3 days of decline in the number of COVID-19 infections, new cases in the Kingdom again soared on Sunday, May 31, to stand at 1,877 raising the total confirmed afflictions in the Kingdom to 85,261.
Saudi Arabia registered 23 more deaths during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of the coronavirus-related death toll to 503, according to the Ministry of Health.
The ministry also announced that 3,559 more patients have recovered, taking the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 62,442.

Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah on Saturday, May 30, said that more than 70 percent of the cases in the Kingdom have recovered so far as a result of the country’s treatment protocols.
“We have treatment protocols developed by Saudi experts,” Al-Rabiah said. “These protocols are continuously updated with any new global developments related to treatments and procedures,” he said.
