Saudi Arabia recorded on May 3, Sunday 1,522 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 27,011, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health.
The ministry also said that 8 more people have succumbed to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths in the country to 184. Meanwhile 369 patients have recovered, bringing the total of recoveries in the country to 4,134.
Of the eight dead, there were 2 Saudi citizens in Dammam and Jeddah, and 6 non-Saudis in Makkah, Riyadh, and Madinah.
They were between the ages of 32 to 84 years old, al-Abd al-Ali said. Most of them suffered from chronic illnesses.
Jeddah with 245 cases continues to be on top of the list, followed by 221 cases in Makkah, 156 in Jubail, 150 in Dammam, 139 in Madinah, 111 in Baish, 109 cases each in Riyadh and Safwa. There were 68 cases in Taif, 66 in Khobar, 55 in Hufof, 32 in Dhahran, 17, in Al Majaridah, 12 in Az Zulfi, 10 cases each were found in Kharj and Al Baha.
The other cases were reported in cities and provinces across the country.
