Eid Al-Adha prayers not allowed in open grounds: Saudi Arabia

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh announced on Monday (July 13) that Eid Al-Adha prayers shall be offered only in mosques and not in any open grounds.

In a circular sent to the ministry’s branches in all regions of the Kingdom, the minister directed that Eid prayers shall be offered inside big mosques and additional mosques where arrangements are made to hold the Eid prayer. He said that no Eid prayer shall be offered at open grounds in light of the prevailing exceptional circumstances.

The ministry said it has intensified its awareness and guidance campaign to adopt preventive protocols to combat the spread of the COVID-19 through the participation of a group of advocates and scholars, in addition to publishing what was recommended by the medical committees concerned with combating the epidemic.
