COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 2,840 new coronavirus cases,1,797 new recoveries; 10 more deaths

Saudi Arabia reported 2,840 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday,
raising the total cases in the Kingdom to 52,016, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

ten more deaths due to the coronavirus were also recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 302.

The ministry also revealed the new recovery of 1,797 coronavirus patients, taking to 23,666 the total number of patients recovered in Saudi Arabia.

The newly detected cases were confirmed after an additional 18,285 tests were administered. Saudi Arabia has so far conducted 570,360 screenings throughout the country, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali said.

The ministry continues to urge people to only go out when absolutely necessary and to avoid crowds in order to not contract or spread the COVID-19.
