COVID-19: Saudi Arabia registers 4,233 new cases, 40 die: 14-6-2020

On Sunday, the Saudi capital topped the list again, over 40 percent of new cases of the COVID-19 were registered in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia recorded 4,233 new cases of the novel coronavirus infections during the last 24 hours, the total number of new cases in Kingdom now stand at 127,541, the ministry of health said.

It also reported 40 new COVID-19 related deaths during the last 24 hours increasing the toll to 972.

Meanwhile, the ministry also announced the new recovery of 2,172 coronavirus patients, taking to 84,720 the total number of patients recovered in the Kingdom.

4,233 new coronavirus cases by location:

The new cases are the highest number of daily recorded cases in the Kingom so far. The recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Riyadh has mainly been detected among young people, who may not have been following precautionary measures, an official at the health ministry said.

Spokesman of health ministry Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali said on Sunday said that 90 % of the total confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported in Riyadh, adding that citizens and resident in the area must adhere to social distancing measures.
