Saudi Arabia confirmed 2,509 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, raising the total cases in the Kingdom to 59,854, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
Nine more deaths due to the coronavirus were also recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 329.
The ministry also revealed the new recovery of 2,886 coronavirus patients, taking to 31,634 the total number of patients recovered in Saudi Arabia.
Ministry spokesman said that more than 50 % of those who became infected in Saudi Arabia have recovered.
The health sector’s COVID-19 treatment protocol, extensive testing and active screenings have helped the Kingdom to maintain its relatively low death rate of less than 0.6 %, Health Minister said earlier this month.

Health Minister Al-Rabiah has warned that the number of cases in the Kingdom could reach up to 200,000, based on 4 different studies conducted by Saudi and foreign experts. His lower estimate was 10,000.
The spokesman mentioned that individuals are not maintaining social distancing rules and are not abiding with precautionary measures. These factors have also contributed to the increase in numbers.
He also aded that Saudi Arabia has conducted 16,140 new tests over the past 24 hours.
